My first sermon series is based on that one word that Jesus said in Matthew 22 sums up all the Law and Prophets (the entire Bible): LOVE!
Here's a quick overview from the first 3 sermons of this series already preached:
1 Corinthians 13
1. Trust unsteadily in God
2. Hope unswervingly
3. Love extravagantly
Since God's Word is so clear that the only thing that matters is LOVE, then every program, every activity, every little thing that happens in the church must pass the love test of 1 Cor. 13!
Galatians 5
1. Don't let religion steal your freedom in Christ
2. Don't let religion steal away Christ's LOVE
3. Don't let religion squash the fruit of the Spirit
If the church is not overflowing with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control...than it's not Christ's church!
Psalm 91
1. Real love is found IN HIS PRESENCE
2. Real love knows NO FEAR
3. Real love finds it's beginning in HIM
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear; because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love...We love Him because He first loved us..." (1 John 4:18,19)
